Assocham flays govt’s tech fetish

NEW DELHI: Industry body Assocham has advocated the need for increased focus on manufacturing, agriculture and other allied sectors that contribute close to 95% to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP). According to the chamber, excessive attention is being paid to IT & ITeS sector these days, which contribute merely 5% to India’s GDP.
